In this Cerave hydrating cleanser review, I am sharing the good and the bad of this cleanser designed for the face and body.
Let’s get started!
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Review For The Face & Body
I confess that I was a bit biased by using the same product for the face and the body.
I used to think that I should have one product for the face and another one separately for the body.
I thought this until I got the Cerave and Cetaphil face and body cleanser for my Cerave Vs Cetaphil article.

Keep on reading because I am about to share everything about the Cerave hydrating cleanser for the face and body.
About The Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
In this article, we are referring to the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser for the face and the body.
Cerave has another product also named hydrating cleanser only for the face but it is a product for another review.
But guess what?
If you get this cleanser you don’t even need to get another product because this will work great.
The Cerave Hydrating cleanser not only cleans your face and body but hydrates and restores the skin protective barrier.
This is a cleanser that promises to leave your skin clean without leaving it tight.
In addition, this cleanser won’t also leave your skin dried and is also great for those with sensitive skin.
It is non-irritating and is designed for normal-dry skin, but I have a few considerations about this.
I have oily skin and used this cleanser for a month and it worked really fine for me.
So I believe it will be a good option for you independent of your skin type.
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Key Ingredients
Cerave counts with an exclusive formula that contains three types of essential ceramides that are extremely hydrating.
It also containshyaluronic acid, another super hydrating ingredient that will make your skin hydrated, firm, and smooth.
Technology MVE
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Counts with a top-notch technology called MVE technology.
You must be wondering what that is. I was wondering myself as well and after a quick google research, I found out more about it.
On the Cerave’s website they stated that MVE stands for Multivesicular Emulsion Technology.
It is a formula that was developed to deliver the benefits contained in the ingredients, for longer.
With the technology, they are able to have their products delivering hydration for 24 hours.
In the case of the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, you will have this refreshing and hydrating feeling for up to 24 hours.
Consistency, Smell & Texture
Now let’s talk about Consistency, Smell & Texture. Pay attention because I believe what I am about to share will make the total difference.
Firstly, this cleanser has a creamish texture. It is more or less like a very lightweight, slightly translucent white cream.
I cannot say it is fragrance free but the smell is very light and pleasant.
I am pretty confident you will like the smell unless you went fragrance free, this is a good option for you.
How To Use Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
You can use this cleanser as any other cleanser. Apply it on your wet face, massage your body, then rinse it off.
For better results (and this works for any body wash) I like to use an organic brush.
I also think that my skin gets special softer when I apply a body scrub after this cleanser.
Don’t forget to apply body moisturizer to seal your daily skincare routine.
I am sure you will love the results. Try this out and then come back to let me know what you think in the comments below.
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Review First Impressions
I am sharing later on, the final thoughts after using this cleanser for more than a month.
But here is what I thought in the first weeks I used this cleanser.
Firstly I noticed the smell was really nice, even though it was very light, not so strong.
The second thing I noticed is that it looks more like a lightweight moisturizer.
Yes, in fact, it looks more like a moisturizer than a cleanser, which is interesting because it makes me believe this can be really hydrating.
Thirdly, I noticed it doesn’t lather at all.
This is actually a disadvantage for me because when I am having a shower, I want to feel it foaming on my skin.
So, while I spread the cream on my body, it didn’t foam at all.
Then when I rinsed it off, it was actually easy to get the product off the skin.
Lastly, after the shower, I noticed the skin got very soft immediately and this feeling lasted for long hours.
I wouldn’t say the feeling of soft skin lasted for 24 hours, but I can assure you it lasted long hours.
Review After One Month Of Use
After one month of use, I noticed the skin was soft and smooth.
I was under a lot of sun exposure at the time, and I believe it helped my skin deal with the effects of the sun on my skin.
I finally got used to the fact it doesn’t lather but because it doesn’t lather, I don’t really have this feeling that my skin is deeply cleansed.
I know it doesn’t work like that in reality, as many soaps that don’t lather are actually indicated as being even better for the skin because they are less drying.
But if I find a soap that lathers and is gentle and also doesn’t dry my skin is the perfect picture in my mind.
However, this is not really a big deal, as the most important thing is the final result.
Now, if you ask me if I recommend it, I definitely recommend it, even though I have to say there are similar products that I liked more.
Conclusion
In this Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Review, I am sharing my honest review after using this for more than a month.
I totally recommend this product as it leaves my skin feeling very soft and hydrated for a long time after shower.
