Benefits & Key Ingredients

Cetaphil Daily Cleanser Review

In this daily cleanser, there is a blend of vitamin B3, vitamin B5 and hydrating glycerin.

Benefits of Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3 can also be known as Niacinamide, which hydrates, minimizes fine lines and increases the synthesis of ceramides on the skin.

This ingredient is great in special for those with oily, combination acne prone skin given the sebum control of the skin glands. Having this in mind, we can also state that this cleanser also works as an acne control agent.

Down below we have a list of benefits of using vitamin B3:

  • Fine line minimization and anti aging properties
  • Treats hyperpigmentation
  • Reduces redness and inflammation
  • Antioxidant
  • Improves skin elasticity

Vitamin B5 Benefits

Vitamin B5 can protect your skin serving as a barrier against skin irritation. In addition, this is a great activity that hydrates soften, heals, and alleviates acne, eczema, sunburn, and other irritations.

Also known as pantothenic acid, vitamin B5 is also a great ally in your anti-aging skincare routine, leaving your skin younger and firmer.

Glycerin Benefits

Theoretically, glycerin is a perfect match for deep cleansing and hydration. It is a humectant ingredient that protects your skin leaving it soft, flexible, and restorative.

But the benefits don’t end here, as it can have a great anti-aging effect on the skin, preventing fine lines, and wrinkles. Here’s what to expect:

  • Hydration
  • Elasticity
  • Prevention of fine line and wrinkles
  • Skin protection and restoration

Review & First Impressions

This cleansing has a light and pleasant smell, and I guess I can say the consistency is kind of a gel. But it is not so consistent, kind of light and transparent.

As it doesn’t lather that much, I tend to use a lot of products to actually feel it is doing its job. While applying the gel on the face, you will feel it slides super easily and spreads really well.

Texture

I just have to say that I find it difficult to rinse the product off, as I have to rinse a lot to feel I removed the product entirely.

When & How To Use

I like to use it only in the morning because I don’t feel it deeply removes makeup and sunscreens.

So I use it as a part of my daily cleansing and use the Vichy facial cleansing bar to remove makeup and sunscreen.

I also like to use a silicone brush in a circular motion for a few seconds deeper cleansing and activate the circulation.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

For makeup users, I don’t think this is the best suggestion, as it will still leave some makeup residuals.

I suggest using this cleanser right in your morning skincare routine, that you still need a gentle soap to get rid of night sweat or to prepare your face for moisturizers and makeup application.

If you are planning to use this cleanser it is also good to have in mind you will need a sort of moisturizer to use right after, otherwise the skin will get tight.

In terms of skin texture, it did not improve my skin texture after continuous use.

The brand says it cleanses my skin and I believe that, but when it says that it treats, hydrates and improves my skin I am not so sure about that.

Pros

  • Paraben free, hypoallergenic does not irritate your skin

Cons

  • Skin gets tight after all
  • Difficult to rinse out
  • Only cleanses the skin does not hydrate as promised

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review For Acne

I don’t remember reading that this product is ideal for acne-prone skin. But they say it won’t clog pores which won’t cause acne. As it has Niacinamide (vitamin B3) which is great for sebum controlling we can also think this will help those with acne-prone skin.

Ironically or not, I started to see some pinpoints in the week I started using this cleanser. And to my disfavor, these pinpoints didn’t go away during the time I used this daily cleanser.

I am not saying this cleanser caused the acne on my face,  as it can be a result of many different factors. But it did nothing to my acne / pinpoint situation.

I don’t really have acne problems, but they can happen eventually from time to time.

What About Oil Control?

I have oily skin and could experience the oil control factor right after washing my face. I used this cleanser without adding any sort of moisturizer to check.

It probably took around a couple of hours and then the skin got oily again. If I used a moisturizer this would be oily straight after applying moisturizer.
