Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review | Is It Good?

In this Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review, I am sharing my personal experience after purchasing and emptying the bottle.

Stay stunned because I am sharing absolutely everything, the good and the bad!

Let’s get started!

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review

Cetaphil is well known to deliver great skincare products for all types of sensitive skin.

But if you don’t have sensitive skin, you can also have great results by using this brand.

The internet is talking a lot about it and if you search for Cetaphil on Amazon, you will surely find thousands of reviews.

Today we are doing the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review but here on the site, you can find other reviews for this brand as well. Ok?

Now, let’s jump to talk about this cleanser.

About Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

Cetaphil Reviews

As it is stated on the packaging, this is a facial cleanser, that aims to:

  • Remove impurities and excess of oleosity without drying skin out
  • It is gently, Easy to rinse does not leave residuals

There isn’t that much information in the bottle, so I am also sharing here what they say on the official website.

On the Cetaphil’s website, it says, this is a gentle gel foaming facial cleanser, capable of performing a deep cleansing.

Apart from that, it is stated that Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser can minimize pores without compromising moisture.

In addition, here’s what to expect:

  • Paraben free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • won’t clog pores
  • removes dirt, excess oils and makeup
  • Defends against sensitivity, dryness, irritation, roughness and tightness

Sounds great right?

We are gonna talk about that list later on, but now, let’s take a look at the key ingredients.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Key Ingredients

Cetaphil Daily Cleanser Review

Cetaphil is known to present basic ingredients on their formula, maintaining just what is enough to clean your skin without irritating.

In this daily cleanser, there is a blend of vitamin B3, vitamin B5 and hydrating glycerin.

I think it is nice to talk a little more about each one of these three key ingredients.

Vitamin B3 For The Skin

Vitamin B3 can also be known as Niacinamide, which hydrates, minimizes fine lines and increases the synthesis of ceramides on the skin.

This ingredient is great in special for those with oily, combination acne prone skin given the sebum control of the skin glands.

Having this in mind, we can also state that this cleanser also works as an acne control agent.

Down below we have a list of benefits of using vitamin B3:

  • Fine line minimization and anti aging properties
  • Treats hyperpigmentation
  • Reduces redness and inflammation
  • Antioxidant
  • Improves skin elasticity

If you want just to retard the signs of aging or if you want to minimize it while it is already occurring, vitamin B3 can be a great ally.

Vitamin B5 For The Skin

Vitamin B5 can protect your skin serving as a barrier against skin irritation.

In addition, this is a great activity that hydrates soften, heals, and alleviates acne, eczema, sunburn, and other irritations.

Also known as pantothenic acid, vitamin B5 is also a great ally in your anti-aging skincare routine, leaving your skin younger and firmer.

So products that contain Vitamin B5 can also reduce fine lines, wrinkles,  cell regeneration, and cicatrization.

Glycerin For The Skin

You have probably heard about glycerin in different types of cosmetics such as cleansers, shampoos, and so on.

Theoretically, glycerin is a perfect match for deep cleansing and hydration.

It is a humectant ingredient that protects your skin leaving it soft, flexible, and restorative.

But the benefits don’t end here, as it can have a great anti-aging effect on the skin, preventing fine lines, and wrinkles.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Hydration
  • Elasticity
  • Prevention of fine line and wrinkles
  • Skin protection and restoration

How To Use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser?

Cetaphil Facial

On the bottle, the instructions are really simple, but I have a few considerations to share based on my experience using this cleanser.

Cetaphil says that you just need to use a little bit of the product on your wet face and rinse it out.

My first consideration is, that as it doesn’t lather that much you may end up using a lot of products in order to “feel” the face properly cleansed.

Also, this is a cleanser for daily use so you can apply it morning and evening every day.

In my case, I like to use it only in the morning because I don’t feel it deeply removes makeup and sunscreens.

So I use it as a part of my daily cleansing and use the Vichy facial cleansing bar to remove makeup and sunscreen.

I also like to use a silicone brush in a circular motion for a few seconds deeper cleansing and activate the circulation.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Consistency, Smell & Texture

This cleansing has a light and pleasant smell, and I guess I can say the consistency is kind of a gel.

But it is not so consistent, kind of light and transparent.

As it doesn’t lather that much, I tend to use a lot of products to actually feel it is doing its job.

While applying the gel on the face, you will feel it slides super easily and spreads really well.

I just have to say that I find it difficult to rinse the product off, as I have to rinse a lot to feel I removed the product entirely.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review First Impressions

I bought Cetaphil’s facial cleanser because I was going to write an article comparing cetaphil and Cerave’s cleansers.

Take a look: Cerave vs Cetaphil: I Tried Them, Here’s The Winner!

Since then, I’ve been using it to write this dedicated review for you!

I am sharing later on my review after 2 months of use but now let me share my first impressions.

Firstly as I have already shared with you, this cleanser doesn’t lather.

So, if you still prefer, some foaming with this cleanser is absolutely possible by applying more product.

Secondly, while applying it I thought it was really easy to spread the product over my face.

It is nice to do a little massage and it slides really well, it is easy and nice to have a quick facial massage while cleansing.

Then It was time to rinse the product out and I thought it was a bit difficult to remove it entirely.

I had to rinse my face many times so I could make sure there were no residues left.

Lastly, after totally rinsing the cleanser out, I felt the skin a little tight.

It is still better than some other cleansers I have tried, but it still left my skin a little dried out right after rinsing.

This was not a big deal though because as I said, it was just a little bit tight, which was easily fixed by a serum or moisturizing application.

My Review After Emptying The Bottle

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

We have already mentioned all the benefits we should be able to expect by using this Cetaphil’s cleaner.

But I’d like to give a quick recap in case you haven’t read this part or just need a little refreshment.

Here’s what this cleanser is supposed to do:

  • won’t clog pores
  • removes dirt, excess oils and makeup
  • Defends against sensitivity, dryness, irritation, roughness and tightness

Apart from that, having in mind the key ingredients here’s what we can expect by default:

  • Fine line minimization and anti aging properties
  • Treats hyperpigmentation
  • Reduces redness and inflammation
  • Antioxidant
  • Improves skin elasticity
  • Acne minimization

I didn’t suffer from redness and inflammation so I cannot say much about it, but this is supposed to restore and protect the skin.

But I can give my two cents in relation to effectiveness, how it feels, and the overall quality of the cleanser.

For makeup users, I don’t think this is the best suggestion, as it will still leave some makeup residuals.

I suggest using this cleanser right in your morning skincare routine, that you still need a gentle soap to get rid of night sweat or to prepare your face for moisturizers and makeup application.

If you are planning to use this cleanser it is also good to have in mind you will need a sort of moisturizer to use right after, otherwise the skin will get tight.

In terms of skin texture, it did not improve my skin texture after continuous use.

The brand says it cleanses my skin and I believe that, but when it says that it treats, hydrates and improves my skin I am not so sure about that.

  • Paraben free, hypoallergenic does not irritate your skin

  • Skin gets tight after all
  • Difficult to rinse out
  • Only cleanses the skin does not hydrate as promised

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review For Acne

I don’t remember reading that this product is ideal for acne-prone skin. But they say it won’t clog pores which won’t cause acne.

As it has Niacinamide (vitamin B3) which is great for sebum controlling we can also think this will help those with acne-prone skin.

Ironically or not, I started to see some pinpoints in the week I started using this cleanser.

And to my disfavor, these pinpoints didn’t go away during the time I used this daily cleanser.

I am not saying this cleanser caused the acne on my face,  as it can be a result of many different factors.

But what I am sharing here is that it did nothing to my acne / pinpoint situation.

Just for the record, I don’t really have acne problems, but they can happen eventually from time to time.

What About Oil Control?

I have oily skin and could experience the oil control factor right after washing my face.

I used this cleanser without adding any sort of moisturizer to check.

It probably took around a couple of hours and then the skin got oily again.

If I used a moisturizer this would be oily straight after applying moisturizer.

But I guess this is normal for me, as any other so-called oil control product would always end up like that.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review Conclusion

In this Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review, I shared with you all my experience based on almost 3 months of use.

After emptying the bottle, I could have a solid idea if this product worked for me or not.

After all, I need to say that the final impressions were pretty much the same as the first impressions.

I didn’t notice any sort of improvement on my skin, be on the texture, be on acne reduction.

I didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t last that much and how it is a bit hard to rinse out.

I am not saying this is a bad product, but for me, there were other products that I liked more.
