Olaplex Reviews: Is Olaplex Worth It?

Olaplex Reviews: Is Olaplex Worth It? Take a look at these hands-on reviews packed with info to help you get the most out of it!

I have read many Olaplex reviews on Instagram, and I wondered: Is Olaplex worth it?

I was really curious, but as I was out of Europe, it was hard for me to try this out, but now the time finally came that I could get my hands on this trendy line.

As soon as I arrived in Germany, I saw it in every salon, and it was easy to spot their at-home treatment, which I purchased immediately.

So, as I found it a bit confusing to get the hang of it, I decided to create a few articles with some help about the Olaplex.

After all, it is an expensive line, and my job with this Olaplex series is to help you make informed decisions.

Olaplex Reviews

Olaplex reviews

If you are wondering what Olaplex treatment is used for, this hair treatment system/brand restores and revives your hair from the inside out.

It is suitable for all hair types, and the big promise they bring is to seal hair bonds to make them healthier, shinier, stronger, and prettier.

If you need to find out more about their products, you can look at The Olaplex Products Explained, where I put all products in one place with simple descriptions that are easy to digest.

Additionally, you should also read the How To Use Olaplex Treatment At the Home guide, after reading this Olaplex review, for more tips for best practices.

For now, let’s get to the review of each product after my testing!

Nº.0 Intensive Bond Building Olaplex Review

Testing Olaplex

The Olaplex Nº.0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment will prep your hair to receive the Nº.3 Hair perfector.

It is more likely that you should not use this product alone, as it is a part of a two-step treatment for all hair types.

For better results, apply the Nº.0 on dry hair and let it sit for 10 minutes. When this time is up, use the Nº.3 restorative mask and leave it for another 10 minutes.

After that, you can go ahead and apply any shampoo and conditioner. Olaplex recommends you use their shampoo Nº.4 (for example) and their conditioner Nº.5.

Recently, Olaplex came up with a new spray bottle that makes applying the product to the hair more manageable.

testing olaplex

It is convenient because the Nº.0 is a very liquid product, and it can be a bit messy to apply (even with the new spray bottle).

However, you should be OK with a bit of precision and attention; you will have an excellent and smooth application time.

After applying it to the dry hair, I waited as recommended and then used the number 3.

But even before using the number 3, I could already feel something “happening” in the hair because it was very malleable, making it easier to apply the subsequent treatment.

Even though the hair was still damp, I believe this should be the product already at work, making the hair softer at the touch while separating the hair sections for the rest of the treatment.

Nº.3 Hair Perfector (Restorative Treatment) Olaplex Reviews

“Nº.3 repair the broken bonds internally, linking them back together again to create healthy bonds.” – Olaplex Site.

Olaplex Number 3

As I explained before, the Nº.3 Hair Perfector (Restorative Treatment) will be applied to the hair after the Nº.0 treatment and before shampoo and conditioner.

It is indicated to leave it on the hair for 10 minutes, but you can actually leave it for longer.

I haven’t tried to leave it overnight, but it is not indicated to do it, not so much because of the product, but this is not a good practice to sleep with the hair wet.

Is Olaplex Worth It

I liked this product because I noticed my hair got shinier even before washing it off.

It was cool to notice, and then I washed the hair with the Nº.4 shampoo, applied the Nº.5 Conditioner, and processed to dry it with a dryer.

Even though I was not using the diffuser (just the standard dryer), my curls were bouncy, shinier, and more defined, as I have never seen with other high-end products.

Great for damaged hair! It was a pleasant surprise.

Nº.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo & Nº.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner Review

The Nº.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo & Nº.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner are meant to be paired together.

I have extremely dry hair and found it very hydrating from my experience.

Is Olaplex Worth It

I need to say that I have only tested them with the Nº.0 and Nº.3 treatments, and the results were great.

However, I still need to try them without the additional treatments to check out how they will act standalone.

But to be honest here, for my hair type, I only get the best results when I pair shampoo and conditioner with another sort of treatment, so I am not sure if testing them alone will do any good to my hair.

So, make sure to return because I will share the updates as soon as I do.

Nº.6 Bond Smoother (Leave-In Styling Treatment) Review

Number 6 Olaplex

The Nº.6 Bond Smoother is a live-in conditioner treatment and heat protectant.

However, you can also use it as a leave-in if you are not planning to heat style your hair for smoothness and to eliminate frizz.

I liked this, but if you use the serum gloss and the oil, I believe there is no need to add this product to the routine.

Make sure to use a little bit of this product, just enough so the hair won’t weigh down.

Overall, it is a good product, and I noticed it adds a nice texture to the hair; this is what I like the most about it.

Nº.7 Bonding Hair Oil Olaplex Reviews

Various Olaplex products

Now we are coming down to one of my favorites. The Nº.7 Bonding Hair Oil is one of the best actors in this line.

The hair gets shiny when you apply it, and the frizz will reduce significantly, not to mention it gives you luxurious glossy hair without weighing it down.

You can use the Bonding Hair Oil as a heat protectant or any time you feel like you need it.

Bonding Oil Olaplex N7

If you like straightening your hair, this oil will definitely speed up the entire process.

The bottle is very small, but you just need to apply it once and then forget about it; the hair will look fantastic.

That product is really worth the money; if you are on a budget and want to buy just one styling product for the line, then you should pick this one.

Nº.8 Bond Intense Moisture Hydrating Hair Mask

Olaplex N8

I also liked the Nº.8 Bond Intense Moisture Hydrating Hair Mask a lot. This is one of the most hydrating masks I have ever tried.

Not to mention the curl definition, as the hair got soft and bouncy altogether.

As I have extremely dry hair, I was delighted to see my hair dry out; very manageable and disciplined and embodied.

You can use the Nº.8 Bond Intense Moisture Hydrating Hair Mask once a week after the shampoo and the conditioner.

In my opinion, this is really worth the time and the money if you are looking for special treatment for your hair.

Nº.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum

The Nº.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum was a pleasant surprise as it makes my hair look almost humid even though it is dry to the touch.

I believe this is a very hydrating product that reduces frizz and discipline to my curly hair.

If your hair is wavy or straight, you will need just a tiny bit of the product to get a glossy effect and shine without weighing your hair down.

For those who need to style their hair, this makes the hair so smooth that it will also speed up the entire process.

I have also noticed that it keeps my hair straighter for longer, even on humid and rainy days.

Is Olaplex Worth It? This product is worth the money and time and will add extra beauty to your hair.

However, if you don’t want to purchase it, you can stick with the Bond oil and still get great results.

Great for everybody, including damaged hair.

Olaplex Reviews: Is Olaplex Worth It?

Is Olaplex Worth It? I was skeptical about Olaplex because it was new and because I tend to double-think how some people review certain things.

But I think it made me feel unsure because it was a new product I had never tried before.

Olaplex Reviews - Is Olaplex Worth It?

But my mission is to test these products so you can have a feel of them beforehand.

At the same time, I was excited to try a line that many people were excited about, so I purchased them, but I was not expecting myself to love it more than Kerastase.

After my Hands-on testing of all these products, I had a pleasant surprise. They are worth the hype as they do what they say they will do, fast!

I noticed improvements in the definition, bounciness, smoothness, and shine; my hair’s texture improved beautifully.

Is Olaplex Worth It? So, to answer your question, yes, it is worth it.

When DO I start Seeing Results?

Here we have one of the most recurrent questions for any hair treatment; when will I start seeing results?

First of all, keep in mind that Olaplex is a product that gives gradual results, so consistency is the key to achieving better results.

But I have good news as I can confidently say I have had results since I first used it.

The more you use, the merrier, but remember that these treatments won’t let you down even in the first application.

Olaplex Reviews Before And After

Before Olaplex, my hair tended to look porous and extremely dry.

I certainly had some great hair treatments that I love that would fix it, but the hair would be porous again if I took too long to wash my hair.

If you have curly, dry hair, you will know that we tend to wash the hair less often due to dryness and even laziness in doing the job.

But after the second application of Olaplex, I noticed I could go much longer without washing my hair, not seeing any porosity.

Another difference I’d like to highlight was the curl definition thing. Guys, this is true. I was laughing when I saw them promising it, but to my surprise, they were right.

Lastly, the hair gets highly hydrated. It doesn’t mean that it won’t get dry anymore, but any time I use Olaplex, I can feel that my hair gets more and more hydrated.

Olaplex Reviews: Pros and Cons

Getting down to the pros and cons, you will see that the cons are more related to some technical and organizational stuff than the actual results of the products.

Pros

Starting with the pros, the most significant thing I noticed about the Olaplex system is that they deliver what they promise.

The promises are simple:

  • Frizz reduction
  • Improved hair texture and definition
  • Strengthening (fall and breakage prevention)
  • Softness and smoothness
  • Shine
  • Improves Hair Growth

Cons

  • There is a slight learning curve, and it can be confusing to understand what you should use and all the steps you need to take.
  • Also, some people will complain about the price, but you pay for what you get.
  • The third point is that the conditioner bottle makes it hard to squeeze the product off, and you need to be careful not to squeeze too much product at once.

Their website has mismatched information—many mistakes on their help center regarding product instructions and directions.

For example, on their product page, they tell you to use the product in a certain way; however, on their blog site, there is a different recommendation, which makes us even more confused.

Olaplex Reviews Final Takes

I know it can be complicated to gather all the information, but if you are serious about your hair and how you want it to look, then you are investing your time in yourself and your well-being.

In this article, I am writing about my experience with each product after purchasing and testing them myself.

At the moment, these Olaplex reviews are limited to the “at-home treatment” that I used and have not written about the saloon treatment because I haven’t tried it in the saloon yet. (I will update you when I do!)

If you made it this far in this post, I hope you have found answers to your questions and that you should be able to know more or less what to expect from the brand.
