By the moment I am writing these Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews, I have successfully completed my 5th wash. I have quite a few things to share, because these products are supposed to enhance the results after the 5th application, as this is a gradual treatment.
Before I get started, I’d like to let you know that this is not a sponsored review. My opinions and reports that I’m sharing here are based on my own honest experiences, after purchasing these products myself and using them several times. So I am here to give an honest review.
Why Olaplex?
After a quick research I saw that Olaplex products restore and protect damaged and chemically treated hair, preventing breakage, drying, and everything that chemistry can cause.
I heard so many great reviews and there was a real buzz online about this product. I did not test them before because I was in Brazil, which I couldn’t find. But as soon as I went back to Germany I found it literally everywhere! I had to have my hands on them!

Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews
Two little bottles the N4 and the N5, shampoo and conditioner respectively are definitely at a high price tag. In Germany, I bought them in the 35 Euros price range and as I have full, long voluminous hair, I had to quickly buy new ones.
The fabricants say that we don’t have too much product as they are highly concentrated products they should go along for a long time, which is the reason they come in small bottles.
I am not sure if this is true, even though I can agree these products feel concentrated, but the thing is that with my hair I needed a lot of product, which ended up being very expensive. Maybe this will be true for those with straight or not so voluminous hair.
First Impressions
The shampoo texture is very thick and laters a lot which is very satisfying for me and I have this feeling my hair is being properly cleansed. I know there are great shampoos that don’t lather but I like the feelings. Then I applied the conditioner. The texture is very creamy but I did not like the smell that much. I applied it on washed hair and waited for it to act on the hair for three minutes, then I rinsed out.
The Verdict
After applying the shampoo, I noticed it spreads really well throughout the hair and is really easy to remove. I noticed the same with the conditioner, which makes the washing moment very smooth and easy to complete.
Once I finished with shampoo and conditioner, my hair was already soft. It has the power to make your hair slide off easily and it was instantaneously soft and shiny even before drying out. So, I loved it.
When the hair dried the texture was really nice, the hair was bouncy, shiny and soft. This is by far one of the best shampoos and conditioners I tried. I love testing high end products and the olaplex is one of the best. In the video below you can see how my hair was after 5 applications of the entire line.

Bond Shampoo N4 Overview
The Olaplex shampoo is a nourishing and repairing shampoo. People who have relaxed or dyed and bleached their hair share happy results.

- How often: Ideal For Daily usage
- Where to apply: On the roots
- Hair type: All hair types
How To Use Olaplex Shampoo
The Olaplex hairdressers, advise you to apply a coin size of the shampoo on the palm of dry hands and then hub them together to activate the product. Then move your hands on wet hair massaging the scalp and bring the product all the way to the tips. You can repeat this once or twice as you need.
Pros
Their website says this shampoo will protect your hair from stress, nourishing damaged, frizzy hair and split ends. You can also expect this product to nourish and fortify weak hair, preventing and treating broken hair bonds. As a result, the hair gets shinier, healthy, and bouncy with an improved texture.
Cons
The bottle is too small for the price and another thing I didn’t like was how the smell changed after a few days the bottle was open, I could feel something like a slightly sour smell.
Olaplex Bond Conditioner N5 Overview

The Olaplex bond conditioner is a highly moisturizing repairing conditioner designed for all hair types and significantly damaged hair.
Contrary to some hairdressers, the site says it won’t weigh your hair down. I will have to agree with the site because it didn’t weigh my hair down, but you already know I have dry hair.
It is color-safe, and pretty much like the shampoo, it will repair frizzy, damaged hair and split ends. Additionally, it is fortifying and great for weakened hair that breaks and prevents falling.
- How often: Ideal For Daily usage
- Where to apply: On the hair length
- Hair type: All hair types
How To Use Olaplex Conditioner
After applying and rinsing the shampoo, it is time to use the Olaplex conditioner to the hair length. It says you don’t need to apply it on the roots (as any other conditioner would instruct), but I also brought a bit of product to the roots.
I do that because my hair is dry, so if you have oily or combination hair, it is probably better to avoid applying it to the roots. After applying it section by section (if you are not in a hurry), you wait for three minutes.
Then you should rinse it well to proceed with the rest of the treatment or just leave it as it is.
Pros
After applying the conditioner, I was pretty surprised. There Were two things I noticed straight away: softness and shine. the hair’s texture became instantaneously softer. I let it act for three minutes and couldn’t believe the hair got softer and bouncy.
Cons
The same problems as I mentioned in the cons from the shampoo, but I did not like the smell of the conditioner since the beginning. Also, I didn’t like the package, because the conditioner is very difficult to squeeze the product out of, sometimes you have to try harder and end up throwing too much product away.

Olaplex shampoo and conditioner Alternatives
The first is a high end line from Kerastase, and the second is actually a dupe, which will not work as these two brands but can give you excellent results as well.
Kerastase Cimentè Shampoo and Conditioner
Kerastase Vita cimentè shampoo and conditioner are great to fortify the hair, leaving them strong, reduce breakage, restore the hair and leave them soft and shiny altogether. I use them quite often and I can tell that the hair stopped falling and breaking.
Wella Nutri Enrich Shampoo and Conditioner
Wella Invigo Nutri-Enrich is a treatment for dry chemically treated hair, but it’s also suitable for all hair types. It is detangling, can restore the hair, leaving it soft and bouncy.
