Here are my honest Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews, as I tried them on my curly hair, which always goes under heat styling.

Let’s talk more about that in the following lines. Here are the articles from the Olaplex Treatment Series

What Is Olaplex?

First of all, what is Olaplex all about?

It is a product that restores damaged hair and protects chemically treated hair, preventing breakage, drying, and everything that chemistry can cause.

It was created by scientists who had nothing to do with the beauty world and discovered that the biggest challenge in the world was finding a product that bleaches the hair without harming it.

In this article, I’m sharing my experience with shampoo and conditioner. Stay tuned because there is so much to share.

Who needs the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner?

Even though the Olaplex line was initially created for chemically treated hair, it became trendy, and everybody is using it.

You can use the shampoo and conditioner in all hair types, but bare in mind it is specially created for damaged and dry hair, as I have mentioned before.

Maybe you have been experimenting with chemistry, such as coloring and relaxing your hair.

If this is your case, go for it. If you can try it out for all the other curious out there, I guess the following information will interest you.

Can Normal, Natural, and Oily Hair Use them?

In their reviews, some hairdressers do not recommend Olaplex shampoo and conditioner for oily, healthy hair.

They say that if your hair is not damaged or oily, the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner will weigh it down and make it look greasy.

At the same time, if you have normal hair, I guess you can try it out without major problems.

Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews: Is it Good for Curly Hair?

I have curly hair, and shampoo and conditioners worked fine.

Now, if you ask if they are curly-girl method approved, the short answer is they aren’t.

This is because it contains some ingredients that do not curl-friendly, such as silicones, alcohol, and waxes.

However, I used them both, and my hair got fine with them, even though I noticed it was slightly dry, which I could quickly fix with my Kerastase oil.

Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews

Ok, let’s continue with the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews, and for this, I will talk about each product separately.

Then I will share how I used the products to get great results.

Olaplex Shampoo Review

The Olaplex shampoo is a nourishing and repairing shampoo. People who have relaxed or dyed and bleached their hair share happy results.

Their website says this shampoo will protect your hair from stress, nourishing damaged, frizzy hair and split ends.

You can also expect this product to nourish and fortify weak hair, preventing and treating broken hair bonds.

As a result, the hair gets shinier, healthy, and bouncy with an improved texture.

I tested it out and will give you more details on the results later.

So pay attention when you buy it to ensure you get the original product.

It is even sticky, not so much, just a bit, but you can have this slight impression.

Olaplex Shampoo Application

You should apply the Olaplex shampoo as you would apply any other shampoo.

The only difference is that if you want to follow the line instructions, you should apply the Olaplex number zero, their pre-shampoo.

  • How often: Ideal For Daily usage
  • Where to apply: On the roots
  • Hair type: All hair types

I usually like to dilute any shampoo in a bit of water instead of applying it directly to the hair.

I did this while using the Olaplex shampoo, and it worked fine.

They don’t mention if you should leave the shampoo on the hair for a couple of minutes before rinsing.

As they didn’t mention it, I just applied the shampoo, did a quick scalp massage, and then rinsed it out without waiting too much.

I repeated the process twice; then, I moved to the conditioner.

After rinsing the shampoo out, I didn’t notice anything special, but I must say here that I never expect anything special from shampoos.

But I have a few things to share about the conditioner.

Note: I have not yet tested this product without conditioner because I only like to use shampoo and conditioner altogether.

Olaplex Bond Conditioner Review

Now let’s get to our Olaplex Bond Conditioner Review. I will share some technicalities and then tell you how it worked for my hair.

  • How often: Ideal For Daily usage
  • Where to apply: On the hair length
  • Hair type: All hair types

The Olaplex bond conditioner is a highly moisturizing repairing conditioner designed for all hair types and significantly damaged hair.

Contrary to some hairdressers, the site says it won’t weigh your hair down.

I will have to agree with the site because it didn’t weigh my hair down, but you already know I have dry hair.

It is color-safe, and pretty much like the shampoo, it will repair frizzy, damaged hair and split ends.

Additionally, it is fortifying and great for weakened hair that breaks and prevents falling.

The conditioner texture is really thick, but applying it to the hair length is easy.

It is not easy to squeeze the product of the bottle, but it will work out in the end! Haha!

The smell is pleasant as well.

Olaplex onditioner reviews:

Olaplex Conditioner Application

After applying and rinsing the shampoo, it is time to use the Olaplex conditioner to the hair length.

It says you don’t need to apply it on the roots (as any other conditioner would instruct), but I also brought a bit of product to the roots.

I do that because my hair is dry, so if you have oily or combination hair, it is probably better to avoid applying it to the roots.

After applying it section by section (if you are not in a hurry), you wait for three minutes.

Then you should rinse it well to proceed with the rest of the treatment or just leave it as it is.

Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews: My Results

Now that you know about each product, I’m sharing everything about my results right after washing my hair with Olaplex shampoo and conditioner.

I have to say I have not tried them separately, so all I am sharing is a result of using them both.

Firstly, I must say again that I haven’t noticed anything special after shampooing my hair.

But after applying the conditioner, I was pretty surprised. There Were two things I noticed straight away: softness and shine.

Olaplex shampoo and conditioner reviews: Are They Worth it?

Softness

The moment I applied the conditioner, the hair’s texture became really instantaneously.

I kept applying the conditioner on the hair section by section; I must say I got large sections.

But the hair would slide on my hands quickly, and I was amazed at how soft and easier to detangle it was.

I let it act for three minutes and couldn’t believe the hair got softer and bouncy.

Shine

My hair was still wet, but I saw a noticeable shine that I hadn’t seen in many saloon brands.

It was surprising to see that because typically when the hair is wet, it is shinier by default. At least mine is like that.

But with this conditioner, it was shining, I mean, a lot.

Final Takes, Does The Olaplex shampoo and conditioner work?

By now, my answer is yes, it works, and if you have dry hair and have gone under chemistry, this is a great option to treat your hair from the inside out.

The main characteristic I have noticed about these products is that they will leave your hair with lots of shine and soft since the first usage.

Also, you will notice an improvement in hair texture and a reduction of split ends.

Additionally, the hair gets bouncy, with a healthy aspect that beats most saloon brands. I recommend.

I need to remind you that I used not only the shampoo and the conditioner but also the entire treatment ritual, including pre-shampoo and restoring number three.
