TLM Color Changing Foundation Description & claims
As technology advances, we basically have now a foundation that adapts to your skin tone, doesn’t matter if you are dark, brown, white. You can just apply the foundation and voilá!
As I mentioned, in this TLM foundation Review, we are gonna understand a little more about this TLM color changing foundation and what it is supposed to do on our skin.
I am listing all the reasons why I was so interested in buying this foundation, and the first one is because I can clearly remember how annoying it was every time I bought the wrong shade and could not return back.

Did you ever go to Sephora with all the lights and great environment they have, the seller applies the foundation on you and it looks great.
Then the next day you go apply it yourself and it is actually a little bit too dark or a little bit too light? It’s not only so frustrating, it’s also a waste of time and money.
Or you want to shop online and you aren’t really sure about what shade is best for your color complexion, just by looking at the screen?
That’s what the TLM color changing foundation is trying to fix. Isn’t that much simpler if all foundations were one color fits all?
They Claim that many foundations out there would not give the final tone desired, plus don’t blend so well. With the TLM color changing foundation they promise this is different.
In addition, you can expect this color changing foundation to cover up redness, and imperfections. Sounds good, right?
TLM foundation color changing, as you can see in the picture above, comes in one single colour: It is white.
They claim that the TLM is a protective Foundation that will be good to cover any skin problems without clogging pores.

According to the TLM, this color changing foundation contains Micro-Fil technology that was developed in 2019 (pretty new, hu?).
As I could get from them, this Mico-Fil technology ‘has the power’ (let’s put it that way), to cover spots on your skin that you wished to hide.
On their website, they say that the formula is very light which will provide a very natural, born this way look.
At the same time, the color changing foundation is a moisturizer and a sunscreen, so they say you do not need to use those anymore, because the foundation will take care of that.
The sunscreen contains SPF15 UVA/UVB, broad spectrum, which I love because it gives extra care to sun rays.
This is very important for me. I always give preference to foundations with sunscreen protection, as I use sunscreen even in winter, so I was quite happy about that.
Another claim that caught my attention is that this foundation is supposed to last 16 hours, which I have tested and we are gonna talk more about that later on.
Here are the claims you should expect from this TLM color changing foundation:
- Natural look on the face
- Quick absorption and easy to apply
- Amazing Skin
- Long lasting (16 hours)
- Smoother, more flawless, natural finish
- texture smooths seamlessly over the skin
- Covers blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles
- hydrating effect
- 15 SPF
- suitable for sensitive skin
- 100% cruelty-free and clinically tested
- Developed with plastic surgeons and dermatologists
Fair enough… and have noticed that this foundation is not so pricey anymore. It was around $24 dollars, but now you can find offers all over amazon and you can buy it for as low as $12 Dollars.
Depending on your area the prices may vary, but not too far from what I have mentioned. You can check the pricehere because prices really can vary depending on your country.
My TLM Color Changing Foundation Review: First Impressions
Now, this is the part of the TLM Foundation Review where I share my impressions about this product:
I must confess that I was not really putting too much faith in this foundation. I know I was curious and looking forward to trying it, but the truth is, I was not really expecting too much.
It arrived a long time ago, and as soon as it arrived I started to apply it straight away. My first thought about packaging and stuff was, well that’s ok.
The package is not that fancy, but as long as it works well, it doesn’t really matter. The first thing I noticed was the smell and the texture.
It smells like sunscreen and feels like it. They said it’s a very lightweight formula, but the touch on the fingers is kinda thick.
There are no instructions on the package when I bought it, on how to apply, but basically you don’t need anything else, like primer or moisturiser.
I started applying it with the finger and I tried it with a sponge and a brush and we discussed more about that, later on.
What I have noticed was that it doesn’t take too long to blend it well. In the beginning, your skin will look a little white, but not so much. It is pretty much like when you apply sunscreen.
As long as you keep on blending it, you will start to see the color starting to sink in. I was sceptical, but in the end it works really well.
You will probably need around 2 minutes to notice the color taking place and it really looks like your skin but better.
I was shocked. This stuff works and it was better than I imagined. The skin was very uniform and it looked extremely natural.
Even the smell that other people seem not to like, I liked it. It smells like a sunscreen and the smell is light and pretty good.
This foundation actually bypassed my expectations and looked pretty decent on my face.
Some people have complained that the TLM color changing foundation can leave your skin a little brighter than it is. But I guess this might happen if you are on the extremes of skin tones (too white, too dark).
In my case, I have medium brown skin and it looked alright, but I have seen white people complaining, because they look too pale.
That being said, if you are on the extremes, white and dark, maybe you will have a hard time because it might not adapt.
TLM Foundation Review On The coverage:
The coverage is light to medium, in my opinion. For me this is good as I want to go for light coverage and I also think that you cannot achieve full coverage by adding layers.
The best coverage you can achieve with this foundation will be noticed in the first layer and adding more layers in order to build up a full coverage will leave skin pale.
I think that the coverage will be better for those with healthy skin. If you have serious skin problems like acne scars or something like that, I am not sure how it will work.
As I mentioned before, I say this because I have noticed that if you add multiple layers the result will not end up very well.
For this reason, I imagine that adding multiple layers to cover heavy skin problems will not work well and will also leave your skin looking more pale.
Note: One tip is to always use circular motions to blend this foundation on the face. I don’t know why, I just know that It looked more natural and blended better like that.
Let’s Take a closer look

1. Texture and Smell
You will probably have the feeling that you are applying a sunscreen or a moisturizer (which I got used to, after a couple of applications. So, that’s ok).
Maybe because the TLM color changing foundation has the white colour we might get a little biased by that, I guess. Also because of the strong smell, I must say.
One thing I didn’t like in the beginning was the texture because I thought it was going to take a while to sink.
It was not the case and if you keep on blending (around 1 minute or so), you will start to see that it actually work.
I tried to apply it with fingers, sponge and brush and the best way I found to apply it, is with a foundation brush, like the onesin this link here.
Just make sure you do circular motions, as I noticed it helped the colour to sink in quicker and also brought me a more perfect finish.
However with the fingers, you should still achieve great results.
If you try to apply it using a sponge, then it will be even harder to spread, so I recommend using a brush instead or just use the finger.
2. Full Coverage?
If your skin is already good, it will work well, but if you have serious blemishes and acne, then I imagine it would not really work that great, because it’s not like the other foundations that you can apply many layers.
The more you apply the TLM color changing foundation, the whiter your skin gets so it is not recommended that you apply many layers.
3. Is it really long lasting?
TLM color changing foundation takes around 16 hours. I think it is indeed a long lasting foundation because I could stay all day without touch ups.
4. What about oily skin?
That’s a huge point for me now. If you have read my posts you might have heard me saying I have oily skin and I don’t really like the shiny finish.
This foundation gives a very luminous finishing look, which is not my fav thing. I know there are people who love it, but I prefer a matte look.
However, it had a quick fix with a translucent powder. The one I used was the MAC CC Loose powder, as I have it here at home for ages and is the only I like at the moment.
By the way I have written a full review on it, you should check it out my MAC CC powder review!
5. Perfect flawless finish?
I believe that mostly for normal skin or skin with light problems. If you have heavy problems you will probably need to apply many layers.
This is not the best idea because It will probably not look very natural, and your skin will most likely be pale or whitish.
How To Apply TLM Color Changing Foundation?
You don’t need to apply primer or sunscreen or anything before this foundation, as this alone has SPF and moisturizer at the same time.
Also, if you apply other products like primeres before the foundation, you will notice that the texture will become really thick.
I mean it is going to feel thick or heavy on your face, so you don’t need to apply anything else before it.
Many people were asking if it will work well with concealers. I am not sure about heavy imperfections, but I know that if you apply concealer under eyes after applying the foundation, it will work well.
After that, you can proceed with your makeup normally. You can apply bronzer, powder, blush, etc and be ready to go.
TLM color changing foundation Review in a nutshell
- If you have oily skin, it can leave your skin very luminous. Be sure to have a powder in hands
- If you have dry skin or love a more luminous look, you will probably like it best
- In my opinion, the TLM color changing foundation will probably lack coverage for those skin with more problems that need to be concealed. However, if you have normal skin that works great.
- Applying more layers in the hopes to help will only leave the ghostly look
- It feels like you have just applied a lot of sunscreen on the face and the smell is strong but you get used to it.
TLM Foundation: The Cons
- As they claimed themselves to be a one size fits all, it is not true. Because if someone is on the extreme of the skin shades, for example, you will find this foundation will not really do it.
- For example, if you are too white or too dark, this might not give the desired results. If you are outside the extremes it might work for you.
Does The TLM foundation work?
To answer the question, does the TLM color changing foundation work? It depends on your skin tone.
For my skin, I would say…it worked really well. I was surprised as it started to sink in my skin. It has the effect ‘your skin but better’, leaving you looking very natural.
It takes a while to sink in, so in the beginning you will think it won’t work by blending it properly, in circular motions and with a brush, you will notice a huge difference.
Skin looks improved and fresh, I was amazed how it ended up and lasted long as they claimed in the beginning.
