HI,
This is helpful but I am fretful packer adn alwasy take too much. I have a lot of clothes but always mssing something for travel. We go to Lisbon, then Porto then Sentra from May1-17. Should I bring a big warm cashmere sweater that looks fabulous but takes up space. Still dresses up every outfit. We will begin Porto the second stop so aorund May 7th or so for 6 nights. How cold? Thanks so much.
Hey! I totally get it — packing is the hardest part for me too. I always bring too much and still feel like I’m missing something 😂
Your trip sounds amazing! May is such a lovely time to visit Portugal. Lisbon is usually sunny and mild, but Porto and Sintra can be cooler and breezier, especially in the evenings. Around May 7th in Porto, you’ll probably see daytime temps in the mid 60s°F (around 18°C) and cooler nights — sometimes in the low 50s (10–15°C). Not freezing, but definitely chillier if you’re coming from somewhere warm.
If that cashmere sweater makes you feel fabulous and works with a few outfits, I’d say bring it! Especially if you’re used to warmer temps — those evenings will feel colder. Plus, it sounds like a great piece to dress things up. Try to plan a few looks around it so it earns its suitcase space 😉
Hope you have the best time!!
