This Tokyo fall packing list ensures you’re dressed for the season, ready for changing temps, and prepped for Japan’s blend of tradition and trend.

What to pack Tokyo Fall

Weather Overview 🌡️

Tokyo’s fall (September–November) is mild, clear, and packed with autumn color. Expect temps from 15°C to 26°C (59°F to 79°F) in September, cooling to 7°C to 17°C (45°F to 63°F) by November. Rain tapers off after September, and humidity drops, making it ideal sightseeing weather.

🍁 Pack light layers you can add or remove easily.
⛩️ Respect modesty at shrines, temples, and traditional venues.

  1. Wow! What would all this weigh??? I’d love to know once you have it all packed! And in two weeks, I’ll be headed to Japan for three weeks, where it’s still 36 degrees Celsius across the country! So my wardrobe will be light and washable after hot, hot days!
